Choosing
A Christian Life God is asking the Christian to have faith in a supernatural belief that His grace makes possible the salvation of his spiritual soul. This spiritual soul is invisible and cannot be felt during secular life. But Christians believe that this reborn soul will provide eternal joy by being with God during and after secular life. The faith asks for changes in the secular life that will often be at odds with satisfying natural needs. Any Christian, to some degree, is challenged by how hard it it is to live up to the standard of a sinless life and is worried about pleasing God. Jesus explained that the Holy Spirit resides within the believers to motivate everyday thoughts and actions toward obeying the two great Commandments. The Holy Spirit is the spiritual conscience that defines the personal relationship God has with the believer based on faith. Becoming a Christian means a new life which turns someone from self reverence ("it's all about me") to reverence for the Creator ("thank you God for your blessing.") Choosing Christianity is acceptance that life is no longer a joy ride to satisfy as many needs as possible. It is a serious trial of obeying God's Will, that is being judged by God. The believer bets that the faith is completely true and its eternal spiritual importance dwarfs all things secular.
